Hanukkah (the festival of lights) is the story of standing against oppression
for what you believe in, and not surrender rights and identities.
This 8 day holiday serves as a memory to the end of the Greek rule
over a Temple in Jerusalem. It's a victory of religious
freedom. For each of the 8 days a candle is lit on the menorah, and
hope is brought to homes. When candles are lit, blessings are recited.
