Event Details

The E.B. Crawford Public Library in Monticello presents The Women Pioneers Of American TV on Thursday March 17th, at 6 p.m. virtually by Evan Weiner in honor of International Women’s Month.

The early days of TV were dominated by men on the small screen but a surprising number of women (unusual for its time, the late 1940s and early 1950s) left a mark. Betty White was the last woman standing of a group that included Gertrude Berg, Hazel Scott, Dagmar, Faye Emerson, Martha Rountree and Lucille Ball.

Evan Weiner is an author with radio and TV background.
