The PennState Extension presents a program on Wednesday September 15 from 1 to 2 PM with Dean Rick Roush and Jason Rasgon, professor of entomology and disease epidemiology, to discuss research on the release of genetically modified mosquitoes for disease control, pathogen transmission dynamics, and bioterrorism issues. Mark Guiltinan, J. Franklin Styer Professor of Horticultural Botany and professor of plant molecular biology, will also speak on the topic of identifying key genes for disease resistance and important traits in crops, with a focus on Theoboma cacao, the chocolate tree.
