03marAll DayPublic Meetings on Recreational Plan for the Upper Delaware River(All Day: thursday)

Event Details

Friends of the Upper Delaware River (FUDR), in partnership with local planning consultants, government officials, landowners, and river users, is developing a voluntary Recreational Plan for the Upper Delaware River Tailwaters region, including the Towns of Colchester, Deposit and Hancock in New York, together with the Townships of Buckingham, Manchester and Scott in Pennsylvania.

This community-based plan will address river usage in a manner that considers wildlife habitat, water quality, flooding issues, private property rights, and the health of local economies.

It will be offered to municipalities and other organizations as a voluntary management blueprint and to help secure funding for initiatives that enhance recreational opportunities, protect natural resources, and stimulate local economies.

Project leaders gathered extensive public comments through surveys from landowners, river recreationists, and other watershed stakeholders and had focus group meetings in the development of the draft plan.

Public meetings for input and feedback before the plan is scheduled for Thursday March 3rd.  There is an in-person meeting at Hancock Town Hall from 2-4pm, and a zoom meeting in the evening.

A link to the draft UDR Recreational Plan will be circulated for review prior to the public meetings.
