Event Details

The Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River encourages everyone to “Wear Your Life Jacket to Work” on Friday, May 20th.  Since 1980, there have been 74 drownings on the Upper Delaware River, however no one has ever drowned wearing a properly fitted and fastened life jacket.  This annual “Wear Your Life Jacket to Work Day” event, hosted by the National Safe Boating Council, kicks off National Safe Boating Week, May 21-27th.  The National Safe Boating Council and Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River are asking every participant to take a picture of themselves in their life jacket while at work and post it on social media along with the hashtag #lifejacket2work and tagging @boatingcampaign (FacebookTwitter, or Instagram) and on Upper Delaware’s Facebook page @updeNPS and Instagram @upperdelawarenps.  The Safe Boating Campaign will choose winners randomly throughout the day to receive boating swag such as t-shirts, dry bags, first aid kits, stickers, and more.
