Doug Sandberg is a veteran of the USAF (1968 to 1972) attaining the rank of E5 (SSgt.). He was an electrician assigned to the 867 combat support group and later to the 91st Strategic Missle Wing. In 1974 he joined the New Jersey Army National Guard I trained as a tank driver on the M60. Prior to the Service, he spent about seven years part-time in broadcasting for WDLC, Port Jervis NY, WNNJ, Newton NJ, and KMOT, Minot ND. Following his USAF enlistment, he worked as an electrician mainly in heavy industry.
In 1980 he joined a German-owned company supplying and servicing data-center power systems nationwide. In 1993 he began working for ASCO Power Technologies (an Emerson Electric Co.) as Eastern Regional Service Manager. He was tasked with building a Field Service Company. ASCO / Emerson supplied specialized electrical gear for Mission Critical applications (large buildings, data-centers, healthcare & government systems which cannot fail). He retired in 2011 as Director of Field Service Sales & Operations worldwide, Field Service Safety Officer and Executive Director, Mission Critical Project Support. He spent another year as Sr. VP NA Sales and Operations QHI Inc. Systems Division. He started Let’s Talk Vets in 2018.
