There was a peaceful demonstration in Hawley Saturday afternoon. The organizers say: “In the wake of the George Floyd killing, it is important to commemorate his life with action. We as a community should be hurt and in pain, many people are angry and it is important to use this anger as fuel for change, and not violence.” The protest organizers were young students of color from the Wallenpaupack Area School District: Seth, a senior; Camille, a junior; and Justin, A 7th grader. The march was Justin’s idea.
