Senator Peter Oberacker, currently serving his second term representing New York’s 51st Senate District, is seeking reelection this November. Oberacker was first elected in 2020 amid the global pandemic and he previously held roles on the Otsego County Board of Representatives, where he chaired the Public Works Committee, served as vice-chair of the Administration Committee, and was involved in Human Services, Negotiations, and Inter-Governmental Affairs.
Prior to that, he was the Maryland, New York Town Supervisor and served on the town board. This election, he faces a challenge from Democrat Michele Frazier.
