Sullivan County residents who volunteer for Sullivan 180 projects can now apply for scholarships, the organization announced. The 2025 Sullivan 180 Scholarship program recognizes volunteers who contribute significantly to projects aligned with the organization’s mission of building a healthier community.
Sullivan 180 focuses on prevention and empowering healthier generations through initiatives like gardening, beautification projects, public space care, documentation, outreach, and fundraising. A limited number of scholarships are available through a donor-advised fund established by Sullivan 180 at the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan.
Applications are open until August 21, 2025, and must be submitted online through the Community Foundation’s Online Portal. Interested individuals should include a personal essay reflecting on their volunteer experience and its impact, a letter of recommendation from their Sullivan 180 project leader, another letter of recommendation from a community member or non-relative, and relevant photos. For directions and links to apply, visit Sullivan180.org.
Scholarship recipients will be announced in September and the funds will be applied towards the 2026 spring semester at the undergraduate college of their choice.
