Local students released several hundred trout fingerlings into Callicoon Creek in Jeffersonville on May 16 as part of the Trout in the Classroom project.
The Trout in the Classroom program brings science to life and connects students to watersheds in classrooms across North America and the United Kingdom. Trout Unlimited along with a myriad of partners facilitate this program within public and private schools in the U.S.
Farm & Country‘s Rosie Starr was on the scene in Jeffersonville and shares this audio postcard.

Rosie, Very nice report. In a few minutes you really captured the essence of the Trout in the Classroom program and the joy of Trout Release Day. Thank you for spreading the see word. The Upper Delaware Chapter of Trout Unlimited is always seeking new members interested in river ecology. Join and find a mentor if you are new to fishing or share your knowledge if you are an experienced flyfisfer. All are welcome!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you so much for capturing precious moments! We are looking forward to the adventures of fly fishing! 🐟💕

This is a wonderful audio picture of a day at the Callicoon Stream with the 5th graders releasing trout fingerlings. The enthusiastic singing did my heart good,! I enjoyed listening so much,
