The Bethel Lions Club is accepting applications for its annual scholarships, offering awards of $1,000 to eligible local students, with a deadline of May 22, 2026.
Applicants must be full-time residents of the Town of Bethel and graduating in 2026 from Monticello, Liberty or Sullivan West high schools. Homeschooled and private school students who reside in Bethel are also eligible.
Completed applications must be submitted to a school guidance counselor’s office before the close of the school day on May 22.
The scholarship places a strong emphasis on community and school service. Applicants are required to include a brief autobiography and a description of their involvement in community and school activities. In addition to service, the selection committee will consider academic performance and participation in extracurricular activities.
A letter of reference from a school guidance counselor or teacher must accompany each application.
Applications are available through school guidance offices. Additional information is available by contacting Chad Phillips of the Bethel Lions Club at 914-443-6886.
Recipients will be invited to return to the Bethel Lions Club during the summer following their freshman year of college to share updates on their academic experience and how the scholarship has supported them.
