Ellenville Woman Critically Injured in Route 209 Crash, State Police Seek Witnesses

Posted on October 6, 2025 by Tim Bruno

A two-vehicle crash Sunday morning on State Route 209 in the town of Wawarsing left a 24-year-old Ellenville woman critically injured, according to New York State Police.

Troopers from the State Police barracks in Ellenville responded to the scene around 8:38 a.m. on Oct. 5 after receiving reports of a collision involving a 2008 Honda and a 2022 Subaru, both traveling southbound on Route 209.

Police said the driver and sole occupant of the Honda received life-saving measures at the scene before being airlifted to Westchester Medical Center. She remains in critical condition.

The driver of the Subaru, a 25-year-old man from Woodbourne, was not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or was in the area of Barthel’s Farm Market and Creamery or near 8097 State Route 209 around the time of the incident to contact the State Police in Middletown at (845) 344-5300.
