The Delaware Free Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library will be hosting a community art project for all ages on Saturday October 12th from 12pm to 3pm. Participants can make their own Autumn Leaf Collage Art to contribute to the library’s window display for the Callicoon Art Walk, which will remain on display all month. STEAM Space is a monthly program for school aged children exploring science, technology and the arts at the Jeffersonville Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library. Cartooning Club with Joe Kennedy will be meeting on Wednesday October 16th from 4:00-6:00pm at the Tusten Town Hall. Participants will discover different drawing techniques, learn how to storyboard their own cartoon. This program is from school-aged children, tweens and teens. This program is for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers, and will incorporate music, literacy activities, crafts and plenty of open play. More information at WSPLonline.org.

Crafterschool is an afterschool opportunity for tweens & teens, happening on Wednesday October 23rd from 3:00-5:00pm at the Tusten-Cochecton Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library. Crafting activities will include crochet, visual art, and more for young crafters of all experience levels. This program is for ages 12 and up, and registration is required. Participants can decorate pumpkins to take home, listen to ghost stories, and are welcome to attend in costume. This program is intended for ages 6 and up, and registration is required. The Vanaver Caravan presents a harvest gathering for the whole family on October 26 from 2-5pm at the Stone Ridge Orchard in Stone Ridge NY.  Its an afternoon of food, dance and music, pumpkins, apples, raffles, and more.

The Liberty Public Library hosts a book discussion on James McBride’s novel, The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store on Thursday October 31 at 1pm. A skeleton is unearthed in the small, close-knit community of Chicken Hill, Pennsylvania, in 1972, and the truth is revealed about what happened and the part the town’s establishment played in it.
