The Sullivan County Soil & Water Conservation District announces their annual spring Tree & Shrub Program in order to promote conservation plantings. Landowners can choose from a wide variety of fruit, deciduous and conifer trees and shrubs and specialized packets such as Nut Tree, Flowering Tree & Shrub, Wildflower, Butterfly, and perennials as well as plantings providing wildlife habitat.
To order, go to sullivanswcd.org. Pick up takes place April 19 and 20 in Liberty. Last date to order is April 8.

NARROWSBURG — The Upper Delaware Council (UDC) will host a public presentation titled “Meet & Greet with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Board President William Gibney and Executive Director Timothy Schaeffer” on Thursday, April 4 at 7pm at the UDC office, in Narrowsburg, NY and by Zoom.
The UDC’s monthly meeting to follow will include status reports from the Delaware River Basin Commission, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, National Park Service, and the UDC Executive Director.

The Delaware Highlands Conservancy hosts a community program “Over and Under the Pond” at the Van Scott Nature Reserve in Beach Lake, PA on Saturday, April 6 from 11am-12:30pm.
DHC’s Education Coordinator Rachel Morrow reads the story “Over and Under the Pond” by Kate Messner which is about animal life in and around the water. Following the reading, participants create a small craft to take home!
Space is limited and prior registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult to attend the program.

The Delaware Highlands Conservancy and the Wayne County Conservation District invite volunteers to assist with planting trees at the Van Scott Nature Reserve for the Keystone 10 Million Trees project on May 18 from 10am to 4pm. Volunteers will learn how to plant trees and should be prepared to walk at least a half mile on sloped terrain. Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that can get dirty. Work gloves will be provided. Please pack a lunch.
