Liberty Central School District recognized three staff members with Excellence in Service Awards at their October 8 board meeting. The honorees were Samantha Davis, a typist at Liberty Elementary School; Ben Abrams, a special education teacher and facilitator at Liberty Middle School; and Kellie White, a guidance counselor and co-director of Guidance at Liberty High School.
Davis was praised for her willingness to help and her positive attitude. “I could not do my job if it was not for her constant assistance,” shared one nominator. “She is caring not only for staff but also all about the students.”
Abrams was recognized for his leadership, knowledge, and dedication to his students. “He is a true asset to the Special Education Program at the Middle School, and we are lucky to have him,” said one nominator. Another highlighted his ability to engage students and make learning social studies fun.
White was commended for her compassion, organization, and commitment to her work. “She is a very knowledgeable and organized and compassionate counselor that takes pride in her work,” stated her nominator. They also noted White’s ability to handle challenging situations with a smile and a clear head.
