Voters in the newly formed Livingston Manor-Roscoe Central School District elected their first-ever Board of Education on Thursday, February 20. The election, originally scheduled for February 13 but postponed due to weather, saw seven candidates elected to staggered terms. The new board will consist of seven members who will serve three-year terms.
The board will convene for its organizational meeting on February 25 at 6 p.m. in Livingston Manor. At that meeting, James Buck, Ed Gorr, and Tasse Niforatos will be sworn in to serve terms expiring on June 30, 2028. Roy Rogers and Gary Dahlman will serve through June 30, 2027, while Nicole Park and Chris Tuleweit will hold terms through June 30, 2026.
The length of each term was determined by the election results, with the top seven vote-getters securing seats. Following their initial terms, board members will serve full three-year terms beginning July 1st.

Prior to the organizational meeting, a public hearing on local tax exemptions will be held at 5:45 p.m. The Livingston Manor and Roscoe central school districts’ dissolution will end local tax exemptions. Residents must reapply for these exemptions by March 1st, with approval from the new LM-R board. Residents should contact their assessor for information about reapplying or applying for exemptions after approval.
