Sullivan County Public Health Director of Sullivan County, Nancy McGraw, stated her resignation via social media, a statement confirmed by Sullivan County Communications Director Dan Hust, effective March 3, 2023.
Karen Holdren will continue to serve as Acting Public Health Director, with the county considering her appointment to the position permanently, pending approval from the NYS Department of Health, according to Hust.
Mcgraw said in a Facebook post, “It was a difficult decision after almost 18 years of dedicated public service that I am very proud of, but it was one that I made with my family, my own well-being, and my future in mind. I am proud of the leadership that I have provided throughout insurmountable odds we faced during the pandemic with limited resources and support. I wish my colleagues and staff well and will always be a staunch public health advocate.”
Radio Catskill attempted to contact McGraw for additional comments but did not receive a response before press time.
According to the county, Freda Eisenberg, Planning Commissioner of Division of Planning, Community Development, and Real Property Staff Commissioner will be stepping down effective April 11.
Hust stated that Deputy Planning Commissioner Heather Brown is expected to be named Interim Planning Commissioner by County Manager Josh Potosek soon.
