Memorial Day is Monday, May 27, and our communities will honor those who lost their lives while serving in the Armed Forces. Here in the WJFF listening area, there are many parades, ceremonies, services, and more. (See the list below)
The annual Sullivan County Memorial Day Service & Wreath-Hanging happens at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery at 1p.m. Monday, May 27th. WJFF will once again record this event and broadcast it that evening in place of Fresh Air.

SATURDAY:
Town of Mamakating: Separate services at the New Vernon, Burlingham Ruaral Free, and Poplar Grove cemeteries as well as the Phillipsport Community Center start at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:30.SUNDAY:
Bloomingburg: 1:00 p.m. Service at Bloomingburg Cemetery. Speaker: the Honorable Frank J. Labuda
Woodridge: 4:00 p.m. Service at Veterans Park. Service will move to Village Hall if it rains.
Lava: 11:00 a.m. Service at Lava Cemetery.
Narrowsburg: 11:30 a.m. Service at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery; Service at Glen Cove Cemetery at Noon.
Town of Tusten: 1p.m. Ceremony at the Old Tusten Church

Forestburgh: 9:00 a.m. Service at Veterans Triangle, Route 42 South, Refreshments to follow at the Fireman’s Pavilion.
Summitville: 9:00 a.m. – Dedication at the Fire House
Eldred: 9:00 a.m. – Memorial Service at Eldred Cemetery.
1:00 p.m. – Memorial Service at Heroes Park
Barryville: 9:20 a.m. – Memorial Service, Barryville Cemetery.
Livingston Manor: Parade and Service: Line up at 9:30, Parade at 10
Fremont Center: 9:30 – Service at New Veteran’s Park
AND – The 135th Annual Fremont Center Memorial Day Parade:
lineup at 9, parade steps off at 10
Lumberland: 9:45 Service at Lumberland Cemetery, AND Service at Lumberland Hall in Glen Spey at 10, refereshments to follow.
Roscoe: Parade starts at 10:00, Ceremony follows at the Roscoe Fire House.
Liberty: Memorial Day Parade in the Village of Liberty
Lineup at 10 a.m., parade steps off at 10:30; Service follows at the cemetery
Monticello: 10:30 a.m. Service at the County Government Center. Master of Ceremonies, Al Etkin.
Bethel: 11:00 a.m. – Service at Veterans Park, Kauneonga Lake. Refereshments follow at Town of Bethel Senior Center
Neversink: 11:00 a.m. – Flag Exchange Ceremony, Grahamsville Cemetery.
Wurtsboro: Memorial Day Parade –
Lineup at 12:30 p.m., Parade at 1; Service follows at Veterans Park Referehments will follow at the American Legion Home.
Sullivan County Service & Wreath-Hanging Ceremony: 1:00 p.m.
at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty. Master of Ceremonies, John Crotty. WJFF will broadcast the service that evening at 6
Long Eddy: 1:00 p.m. – Service at the Catholic Cemetery,
luncheon to follow at the Firehouse.
ULSTER & DELAWARE COUNTIES, NY
Grand Gorge: 9 a.m. Parade.
Downsville: 10 a.m. parade, lineup at 9:30.
Walton: 10 a.m. parade, lineup at 9:30, lunch to follow. If there is rain, ceremonies will be held in the High School gymnasium.
Rosendale: 10 a.m. service, parade to follow.
Roxbury: 11 a.m. Parade and festivities.
Accord: 1 p.m. parade, lineup at 12:30. Service to follow at firehouse.
WAYNE COUNTY, PA
Honesdale: 10:00 a.m. Parade lineup at 9 a.m. There will be a Coast Guard helicopter flyover.
Sterling: 1p.m. Service at the United Methodist Church, refreshments to follow.
