MILFORD, Pa. — Pike County residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste and unused medications at a special collection event on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shohola Elementary School, 940 Twin Lakes Road, Shohola.
The Pike County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection accepts items such as paints, varnishes, motor oil, pesticides, and cleaning chemicals. Officials say proper disposal helps protect Pike County’s lakes, rivers, and natural resources.
The event is open to Pike County households only, with a limit of 300 vehicles. The cost is $30 per vehicle, and advance registration is required. Businesses cannot participate.
Residents can register online at PikeCountyHHW.eventbrite.com or at www.pikepa.org/recycling.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office will also host a Drug Take-Back Program, accepting prescription and over-the-counter pills, vitamins, patches, and pet medications. Liquid medications will not be accepted.
