Years in the making, Radio Catskill officially cut the ribbon for its new Liberty radio station!
“We’re not building this for us, but for everybody who comes after us and for the whole community,” said General Manager Tim Bruno.
Friends, volunteers, and staff, along with elected officials, including Assemblywoman for the 100th District Aileen Gunther and Sullivan County District 6 Legislator Luis Alvarez, and the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce, joined Radio Catskill to help usher in this new era of Public Radio for the Catskills and Northeast Pennsylvania.
Assemblywoman for the 100th District, Aileen Gunther, said, “This radio station has really brought all the community issues to all of our communities. It’s important to all of us in the community and we want to thank you for the effort.”
Jaime Schmeiser, President, and CEO of Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce, presented a certificate of recognition to the station at the ceremony and said, “This is a great, great facility. Absolutely beautiful and state of the art.”
Kirsten Foster, Radio Catskill Board President, thanked all who helped make this move from our former location in Jeffersonville to Liberty and said, “I’m so honored to be here and to finally see [new studio]; we’re thankful and excited to be a partner with a new town here in Liberty.”
“Thank you so much for supporting public radio for the Catskills in Northeast Pennsylvania,” added Bruno.
