Ulster County has appointed its first director of arts, culture and open spaces, Sarah Kramer-Harrison.
Radio Catskills Jamie Case sat down with her to speak about the goals of the new role, how it connects to the county’s “Imagine Ulster” Arts and Culture Master Plan, and her plans to expand access to arts programming across public spaces. The position, created under the Department of Tourism, goes beyond event planning and is designed to support artists, promote cultural events, and integrate the arts into county programs and services.
Kramer-Harrison previously served in the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office and has more than two decades of experience in arts education, youth engagement and community-based programming.
