A yellow school bus was struck by a Honda Thursday morning on State Route 208 near the Route 17 Exit 130 on-ramp, sending three adults to the hospital while all 12 children onboard escaped injury.
The New York State Police Monroe barracks reported the crash occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 23. Preliminary findings show the 2023 school bus, traveling south on Route 208, attempted a left turn onto the Route 17 on-ramp. At the same time, a 2013 Honda, heading northbound with a green light, collided with the front passenger side of the bus.
The school bus was operated by 65-year-old male from Middletown, NY. A 61-year-old male passenger, also from Middletown, was on board at the time of the crash. The Honda was operated by a 31-year-old female from Monroe, NY. All three were treated at Garnet Health Medical Center for minor injuries.
Police say the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
