Monticello, NY – Sullivan County has published the annual list of properties at risk of being foreclosed upon, and the public is welcome to view it at https://sullivanny.us/Departments/Treasurer.
“My office makes every effort to keep people in their homes and allow ample time to pay delinquent taxes,” noted Sullivan County Treasurer Nancy Buck. “That’s why we want property owners to know now whether their lands and buildings are on our list of potential foreclosures, as they have until April 1, 2024 to redeem them.”
The list includes all properties upon which property taxes have not been paid since 2022 or earlier. Should delinquent taxes not be paid by the due date, these properties will be put up for sale in the County’s Real Property Tax Auction.
Payment of taxes due can be made by check or money order via mail, payable to the Sullivan County Treasurer, PO Box 5012, Monticello, NY 12701; or in person at the Treasurer’s Office on the first floor of the Government Center, 100 North Street, Monticello.
The County Treasurer’s Office welcomes questions at 845-807-0200 or by visiting the office.
