WJFF continues its Music & Movies series on Tuesday August 13 with “Taking Woodstock”, directed by Ang Lee. Tickets are $15 and are available at The Callicoon Theater box office. The film stars Demetri Martin, Henry Goodman, Imelda Staunton and features Eugene Levy as Max Yasgur.
Based on Eliot Tiber and Tom Monte’s memoir of the same name, this 2009 film tells the story of a guy who tries to help his parents save their failing Bethel, NY motel and ends up as the go-between for bringing the Festival to his neighbor’s farm. A documentary it is not; but a good time it is.
Start your Woodstock week with a comedic look at one person’s perspective on the origins of a legendary gathering of musicians and fans some 50 years ago.
That’s Taking Woodstock, Tuesday, August 13 at 7:30 at The Callicoon Theater with after party at The Callicoon Brewing Company. And your first beer is on Roscoe Beer Company.
