Victoria Skuthan and Katie Slemmer are two local scouts who want folks to think, speak and act in the spirit of peace and harmony.
They’re planting a “Peace Pole” in Callicoon Creek Park on May 30 to promote peace, caring and acceptance. The peace pole features the message, “May Peace Prevail On Earth,” in multiple languages.
Katie and Victoria spoke to Tim Bruno about the project on Radio Chatskill.

Wow, I certainly did not expect this! Touches my soul. Tugs at my heartstrings. Brings tears to my eyes. So impressed by the astuteness of these two beautiful young girls-they get it! They are the future. Kudos! Perhaps, I will be meeting them both, at the United Nations as Global Citizens and Ambassadors’ for Peace.
May Peace Prevail On Earth.

Thank you Ann Marie, I want to make a correction. In our interview I made mistake, the founder and creator of the Peace Pole,
Masahisa Goi is a man. Thank you again and May Peace Prevail on Earth.
We unveiled the Peace Pole tonight! Thank you WJFF for the interview opportunity and for supporting my Girl Scout Bronze Award project and spreading the message of peace in our community! Thank you also for attending the ceremony. May Peace Prevail on Earth!
