The festival showcases very short films from local and international filmmakers — all films must be two minutes or less in duration.

The Community Arts Network of Oneonta (CANO) encourages artists to submit work for consideration for their upcoming Annual Mansion Exhibit. The Upper Delaware Scenic Byway announces the launch of its first-ever 2026 Photo Contest: “Every Mile Tells a Story”, a seven-month initiative designed to encourage residents and visitors alike to explore and capture its beauty and activities.

Open to the public and free to enter, the contest invites participants to submit photographs taken along the New York State Route 97 Upper Delaware Scenic Byway from April 1 to November 1. Image options are open-ended for the byway, which has been divided into three geographic sections. A detailed map outlining the official boundaries is available on the Byway’s website.

Sullivan County Audubon Society is hosting an annual feeder count from April 1st thru April 7th.  Count the birds on your property and at your feeder for one week. At the end of the week, report only the high count of each species seen on any one day.  Send your results through the Bird Report form on the website, https://www.sullivanaudubon.org/

The Community Foundation of Orange, Sullivan and Rockland, through a donor-advised fund established by Sullivan 180, offers a limited number of scholarships to Sullivan County residents who volunteer in a significant way with a Sullivan 180 project. The 2026 Sullivan 180 Scholarship application is now available. The scholarship program recognizes volunteer efforts in projects that support the Sullivan 180 mission.

Applications are due by August 25, 2026, and must be completed electronically via the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan’s Online Portal at  https://cfosrny.org/apply-for-scholarships/

Applicants should submit a personal essay explaining the volunteer experience and how it impacted them personally, a letter of recommendation from the Sullivan 180 project leader, a letter of recommendation from a member of the community or other non-relative and photos from the volunteer experience.

A Spring Break Podcasting Intensive for Teens will meet Monday, March 30th, Wednesday April 1st and Friday April 3rd from 10am – 12pm at the Narrowsburg Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library. This three-day intensive for teens ages 13-18 will cover the basics of podcasting from start to finish. The Pocono Environmental Education Center in n Dingmans Ferry PA, hosts Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 9:00am-11:00am.

The Roxbury Arts Center hosts  Needle Felting with Elizabeth Yates, a beginner’s workshop that will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, 11a–2p, at Headwaters Arts Center in Stamford, NY.

Catskill Ballet Theatre returns to the Ulster Performing Arts Center (UPAC) in Kingston this April with its production of Alice in Wonderland, a full-length ballet bringing Lewis Carroll’s fantastical world to life through classical dance.

Hanford Mills Museum in East Merideth, NY hosts Waterwheel Celebration Day on May 23, 2026 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.

The Hanfords installed the waterwheel in the mill in 1926 and it still generates power for the mill today. Watch the wheel come to life and power an interconnected system that was at the heart of a truly innovative milling business and is a key to unlocking the power of the past.
