The Delaware Highlands Conservancy announces “Taste of the Harvest,” a concert and brunch on Sunday, October 1 from 11:30am-2:30pm at Seminary Hill Orchard & Cidery in Callicoon, NY.
Attendees will enjoy a locally sourced brunch, cider tasting, and an intimate concert with masters of music and storytelling Jay Ungar and Molly Mason (“Ashokan Farewell”) while taking in the beautiful surrounding views of the Delaware Highlands.
The Conservancy will honor Sonja Hedlund and Dick Riseling for permanently protecting their Apple Pond Farm with a conservation easement with the Delaware Highlands Conservancy.

Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County has opened applications for its new Intergenerational Master Community Builder Program. Following the model of other Master Volunteer programs, individuals are expertly trained to apply frameworks, strategies, and tools to create resilient and just communities in their professional fields, interests, and environments.
This diverse program integrates backgrounds of educators, human services providers, mental health and healthcare providers, business leaders and professionals, law enforcement, community leaders, faith-based community leaders, and members, community activists, policymakers, and community members at large.
Sessions will take place on the first Saturday of the month from 9:30 am – 4 pm, with a Zoom session every second Tuesday of the month from 7 – 8 pm. The program is set to begin October 7, and runs through July.

The 109th Annual Meeting of Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC) takes place on Wednesday, November 1st at the Michael Ritchie Big Barn in Hurleyville, New York at 6:00pm. The CCESC board and staff will present the State of the Association, the 2024 Board election, and “Friends of Extension” awards for dedication to Extension service, education, and outreach mission.
Keynote speaker Anu Rangarajan, PhD, Program Director of the Cornell Small Farms Program will give a talk on the positive impacts of a diverse agricultural workforce and how communities can be supportive.
CCESC’s Annual Meeting is open to the public and there is no cost to attend. Space is limited and pre-registration is required in advance by visiting www.sullivancce.org/events.
