About the host: Angela has been sourcing and presenting good folk music since the 1970’s. On her show, “Folk Plus,” she draws from her decades of experiences beginning with running coffee houses in college and as a staff member of the first national coffee house conference on the SUNY Oneonta campus in 1976. After college she founded the Speak Easy in NYC’s Greenwich Village and helped launch the production of the Fast Folk Musical Magazine. She has been a reviewer for Sing Out Magazine, judged for the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) and mc’d at international festivals. As a volunteer host, Angela has been on the WJFF airwaves with “Folk Plus” since 1991. She has also aired specials on SiriusXM and other radio stations around the country and Canada. In 2022, she was inducted into the Folk DJ Hall of Fame by the International Folk Alliance at their annual conference in Kansas City, MO.

draws from her involvement with folk music gathered from over 4 decades.
She ran folk venues in community churches and college coffee houses in the 70’s, managed the Speak Easy in Greenwich Village through the early 80’s, and worked on the production of the Fast Folk Musical Magazine. Since the early 90’s she has hosted Folk Plus, posting weekly setlists to folkplus.com since 1998. Angela was a reviewer for SingOut! Magazine, a showcase judge for the North East Regional Folk alliance and a festival host in the US and Canada. In 2022, at the Kansas City International Folk Alliance conference she was inducted into the FOLK MUSIC DJ HALL OF FAME. She works on her show at home, and loads it for interested radio, but her home station is here at WJFF.
