Listen: Catskill Mountainkeeper, High Use and Overuse in New York’s Forest Preserves

Can we love a place too much? This busy summer season saw an increase in trash, traffic, and crowded trails in the Catskills and Adirondacks. Kathy Nolan of Catskill Mountainkeeper tells us that some areas saw nearly ten times as much usage this year than in 2019. The question of how best to balance between conserving local natural beauty with making it accessible to the public will be explored on the upcoming webinar, “High Use and Overuse in New York’s Forest Preserves.”
