Listen: Julia Corrice on Recognizing Women’s Right to Vote in New York

Posted on August 27, 2020 by btdemarest D

WOMEN’S EQUALITY DAY – NY HERITAGE EXHIBIT
One hundred years ago, in August 1920, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution granted women the right to vote. August 26, the date of the certification of the 19th Amendment, is designated as “Women’s Equality Day.” To mark the occasion, Julia Corrice tells us some of the artifacts she uncovered for the exhibit she helped curate for the New York Heritage Digital Collection called “Recognizing Women’s Right to Vote in New York State.” AUG 26
