Sullivan County Legislators approved reducing fares for a one-way Move Sullivan bus ride from $2 to just 30 cents. They also agreed to cover that cost for every rider, meaning that any trip via Move Sullivan will be free of charge, starting August 1, 2022.
“Costs are going up everywhere – gas, groceries, services – so I’m pleased to let folks know there’s something that’s going down in price instead,” said Community Resources Commissioner Laura Quigley, who created and oversees the Move Sullivan program. “The County is thankfully in a position to offer what is in essence a complete removal of the bus fare, without negatively impacting taxpayers.”
The resolution passed by the Legislature authorizes this reduction to remain in effect through December 31, 2023.
