June 24, 2025 NY Primary Election: Candidates & Key Races

The Primary Election Day in New York is Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Early voting runs from June 14 to June 22. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Primary Day.

Here’s a look at key races and candidates across Sullivan, Ulster, and Orange (Middletown) counties:

Sullivan County – Republican Primary for Sheriff

  • Michael A. Schiff – Incumbent Sheriff, seeking a sixth term
  • Tim Dymond – Retired NY State Police senior investigator

This race has drawn attention due to differing campaign styles and debates over modernization and community policing.
