Fifty-five students from Rockland Central School District have been selected to perform in the annual Sullivan County All-County Music Festival this March at Liberty High School. The festival brings together the county’s top young musicians in choirs and bands for a day of rehearsals and performances.
Students earned their spots through standout performances in the New York State School Music Association Solo Festival, and will rehearse under the guidance of district music educators including Mrs. Kelly Bullis, Ms. Jordana Maraj, and Mr. Dan Smith.
“We are incredibly proud to have our district represented at the All-County level and congratulate these students on this outstanding accomplishment,” Ms. Maraj said.
The 55 students selected represent a wide range of ensembles:
Elementary Chorus (Grades 5-6)
Josephine Anderes, Leela Bailey, Krystal Bautista-Pineda, Isabella Genovese, Sage Gorr, Thea Green, Sydney Kehrer, Charlotte Lindholm, Kierah Mattingley, Khloe Mershon, Raelee Misner, Whitney Misner, Gabriella Murphy, Olivia Piatek, Savannah Ryder, Savannah Sanderson, Emily Sherman, Emma Smith, Rachel Sprouse, Jenessa Wells, Cheyenne Wolcott.
Middle School Band (Grades 5-7)
Mara Gorr, Rhema Plenty, Mia Rodriguez (flute); Julie-Maye MacManus (clarinet); Noah DeFreitas, Bryce Edwards (alto saxophone); Cora Freidenstine (tenor saxophone); Anthony Heusel (bassoon).
Junior High Mixed Chorus (Grades 7-9)
Sopranos: Fiona Heusel, McKenzie Lundeen, Mila Park, Hannah Ryan, Elena Wells.
Altos: Alivia Brady, Isabella Deans, Taylor Mitchell, Hailey Rogers, Hannah Wilson.
Junior High Treble Chorus (Grades 7-9)
Soprano 1: Amelia Acosta, Anabella Barrotti, Alyson Sherman, Tera Ward.
Soprano 2: Amelia Almquist, Ava McAdams, Jamie Zayas.

Junior High Jazz Band (Grades 7-9)
Mason Roberts (drum set, vibraphone, auxiliary percussion).
Senior High Band (Grades 10-12)
Aliya Anderson (flute), Grace Ward (bass clarinet), Victor Peyton (trumpet), Sara Hollenbeck (French horn).
The festival kicks off with rehearsals on March 6. Performances will begin March 7 at Liberty High School: Elementary Chorus and Middle School Band at 1:30 p.m., Junior High Treble Chorus and Jazz Ensemble at 3:30 p.m., and Junior High Mixed Chorus and Senior High Band at 5:30 p.m.
