“Catskills Capers” Mystery Novels Set in The Borscht Belt

Posted on January 23, 2025 by Tim Bruno

Local author Lily Barrish Levner is set to kick off the first book in her new mystery series, Catskills Capers, with a special book talk at the Sullivan County Museum in Hurleyville on Saturday. The event marks the launch of “Banquets & Bootleg Bounty,” a novel set at The Concord Hotel in the vibrant, nostalgic world of the Catskills in the summer of 1944.

Almost done with book. An enjoyable and easy read. I never worked in the hotels ,but my entire life heard kitchen and amenity stories from
those who worked there. This book brought it alive. And yes I did hear about gangsters and people found in lakes. Loved reading that the stories I have heard are retold in this book. And where else will
I read about all the towns and roads and hotels that surrounded my life.
