Liberty, NY – The 2025-2026 Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) will begin accepting applications for the Heating Equipment Repair & Replacement (HERR) benefit on December 11.
HERR benefits are available to assist HEAP-eligible households with the cost to repair or replace the applicant’s primary heating equipment. Applicants must:
- Be 60 years of age or older (or at least one of the documented homeowners be 60+)
- Own and live in their home as their primary residence
- Have their home’s primary heating equipment inoperable and/or unsafe, as documented by a participating HEAP vendor
- Apply via http://www.mybenefits.ny.gov or by contacting the County offices listed below
