HURLEYVILLE, N.Y. — The Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre will conclude its current operations effective Oct. 31, 2026, according to a joint announcement from the organization and The Center for Discovery.
The organizations said the decision followed “thoughtful discussion and careful consideration.” The transition reflects HPAC’s evolving priorities and strategic direction while maintaining its partnership with The Center for Discovery.
For more than a decade, the Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre has offered arts and cultural programming in Sullivan County, including films, festivals, youth and family programs, senior programming, educational classes and community events.
In a statement, HPAC thanked its staff, volunteers, artists, supporters, donors and community members for contributing to its work over the years.
The Center for Discovery said it will continue arts programming in Hurleyville and work to sustain and expand HPAC’s legacy. Planned offerings include sensory-friendly movies, activities for seniors and children, Holiday in Hurleyville and other community events.
The organizations said they remain committed to supporting the continued growth of Hurleyville, Sullivan County and the broader arts community during the transition.
HPAC said all events scheduled through Oct. 31 will proceed as planned. Previously purchased tickets for those events will remain valid.
The announcement was signed by Janet Carrus, founder and chairperson of the Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre.
