Liberty, NY— Student musicians from across Sullivan County will gather this weekend in Liberty for the annual Sullivan County All-County Music Festival.
The Liberty Central School District Music Department will host the event Friday and Saturday, March 6 and 7, bringing together elementary, middle and high school performers selected from districts throughout the county.
Students will spend Friday evening and Saturday morning rehearsing with their ensembles under the direction of guest conductors before presenting a series of public concerts Saturday afternoon at the Liberty High School auditorium.
Three concerts are scheduled:
- 1:30 p.m. — Elementary Chorus and Middle School Band
- 3:30 p.m. — Senior High Orchestra, Treble Chorus and Junior High Jazz Band
- 5:30 p.m. — Junior High Chorus and Senior High Band
The festival is designed to give student musicians the opportunity to collaborate with peers from other schools while performing challenging repertoire in a large ensemble setting.
The public is invited to attend. Tickets will be available at the door for $8 on a first-come, first-served basis.
If weather forces a postponement, the concerts will be held Sunday, March 8, at the same times and location.
