Listen: Jean-Marc Superville Sovak’s webinar on “a-Historical Landscapes.”

Posted on July 30, 2020July 30, 2020 by starkey

The Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre is presenting artist and educator Jean-Marc Superville Sovak’s webinar on “a-Historical Landscapes.” His work takes the iconic 19th century landscapes of the Hudson River School, America’s foundational visual art, and adds images from contemporaneous anti-slavery almanacs and abolitionist tracts. Each element represents a landscape and a history that isn’t always visible these days. Together, they tell a story for our times. JULY 29

I throughly enjoyed listening to the interview with Jean-Mark, his message in the prints that he is producing brings the period of history of the Catskills in a true light of what was happening at that time
