Monticello, N.Y. — Sullivan County officials say a new online portal is now available to help the public search property and tax parcel information.
The county’s Department of Real Property Tax Services announced the launch of the platform, known as Beacon, which allows users to access public data about properties throughout Sullivan County.
“Known as ‘Beacon,’ the portal is a user-friendly, simple-to-understand web application that makes it easy to locate any public data about properties in Sullivan County – location, acreage, structures, purchase date(s), taxes, maps, aerial photos and a lot more,” Real Property Tax Services Director Christopher Knapp said. He noted that the county’s Division of Information Technology Services helped implement the upgrade.
The new system replaces the county’s longtime Image Mate Online program but remains accessible through the same location on the county website, according to Sullivan County Treasurer Kathleen Lara, whose office oversees Real Property Tax Services.
“Beacon makes it easy to search for property records across the County, and I’m proud of how hard Chris and his crew have worked to update this vital, heavily-used service,” Lara said.
County officials said the portal is designed to be easy to use, but assistance is available for residents who have questions.
“While the portal is designed to be intuitive, my office understands that people may have questions, and we are happy to assist,” Knapp said.
Questions or comments about the portal can be sent to taxmap@sullivanny.gov, according to the department.
