DUNMORE, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has closed Route 3008 (Goosepond Road) in Salem Township, Wayne County, for a bridge replacement project expected to continue through the end of 2026.
The closure affects the stretch between Ledgedale Road and St. Mary Church Road. During construction, a detour is in place using Ledgedale Road and St. Mary’s Road. Altemier Road will remain open to Goosepond Road throughout the project.
PennDOT advises drivers to check roadway conditions before traveling. Information is available through 511PA, a free, 24-hour service that provides traffic delay alerts, weather forecasts, traffic speed data and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. The service is available online, via a smartphone app, by dialing 511, or through regional alerts on X.
Details on planned and active construction projects statewide are available through PennDOT’s website, along with district-specific updates for northeastern Pennsylvania counties including Wayne, Pike and Lackawanna.
