The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that all driver’s license and photo centers, including the full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed from Saturday, May 23, through Monday, May 25, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
PennDOT said customers can still access a variety of driver and vehicle services online during the closure, including driver’s license, photo ID and vehicle registration renewals, driver-history services, address changes and driver exam scheduling.
The agency said online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and do not carry additional fees. Forms, publications and driver training manuals are also available through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website.
PennDOT encouraged customers planning to visit Online Messenger Service Centers during the holiday weekend to call ahead for operating hours.
The agency also reminded travelers that a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card, or another federally accepted form of identification such as a passport, is now required to board domestic flights.
Motorists can check traffic and road conditions through 511PA, which provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. The service is available online, through a smartphone app, by calling 5-1-1 and through regional alerts on X.
