Pike Children & Youth Services Annual ‘Back to School’ Event to Help Prepare Families for Upcoming School Year

Posted on July 9, 2024 by Tim Bruno

Pike County Children and Youth Services (CYS) will hold its annual Back to School Event to help prepare students and families for the upcoming school year by providing backpacks and other useful school supplies including folders, notebooks, glue sticks, pencils and crayons.

The success of previous events inspired the agency to add a second date to be able to assist more families. This year, the agency will be giving away an additional 100 backpacks in the Bushkill area.

CYS Back to School Events include:

Friday, July 19, 2024, from 12 pm to 4 pm at Ann St. Park in Milford, PA
Friday, July 26, 2024, from 12 pm to 4pm at the Lehman Township Building, 193 Municipal Drive, Bushkill, PA

“This year is especially exciting for the agency as it is the first year that we are able to hold two Back to School events. We are grateful for the wonderful local organizations who have donated school supplies,” said Michele Burrell, Pike County CYS Administrator.

CYS invites community members to attend this free event, meet some of the local providers and learn more about the support services available within the County.

The events were made possible by generous community providers including Angels and Dragonflies; Milford United Methodist Church; CASA of Pike County; Carbon Monroe Pike Drug & Alcohol Commission; Carbon Monroe Pike Mental Health and Development Services; Delaware Valley School District; East Stroudsburg School District; Ecumenical Food Pantry; Family Promise; Justice Works; Pike County Commissioners; Pike County Human Services Office; Triversity; Victims Intervention Program; and SAM, Inc.

For additional information on the Back to School Events, please contact Pike County Children and Youth Services at (570) 296-3446.
