Overview: Radio Catskill, Inc., seeks proposals for installation of a new FM radio transmitter to upgrade equipment providing enhanced emergency alerting as part of funding awarded from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) through the Next Generation Warning System (NGWS) grant program, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

- Sealed bids are required for installation of a new transmitter.
- Bidding process opens on April 29, 2025, and closes on May 8, 2025.

Background
- The existing transmitter is outdated and experiences frequent issues.
- The new transmitter will support Radio Catskill’s broadcast signal in its coverage area.
- The new transmitter has been purchased. Specs:
- AAT-5000-TXN Series FM Transmitter. 200-250 VAC 50/60 Hz.
- AES,Analog
- Left-Right. Composite/MPX, SNMP, SMTP, Ethernet, Remote
- Samples. 7/8”
- EIAOutput Connector. Rack mountable
Location
- The existing FM transmitter at 546 Elk Point Road, Liberty, NY, will be replaced by the new FM transmitter
- The existing transmitter will be placed into back-up service at the same location
FCC License & Frequencies
- Existing FCC license includes the 90.5FM frequency
Requirements
- Proposals must include all necessary equipment, installation, and testing.
- Pricing for additional accessories and warranty options must be included.
Outcome
- The project aims to establish to upgrade equipment to provide enhanced signal capability and emergency alerting communication
