A section of Panther Road (Route 447) in Dreher Township, Wayne County, will close beginning Monday, May 4, for a bridge replacement project over Wallenpaupack Creek, officials said.
The closure is expected to remain in place through mid-August 2026. During construction, separate detours will be posted for passenger vehicles and trucks.
Truck traffic will be routed along Main Street (Route 191) and Peterson Road (Route 390), depending on direction of travel. Passenger vehicles will follow a shorter detour using Route 191, Lake Wallenpaupack Road (Route 507), and local roads including Brink Hill Road and Hemlock Grove Road.
Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs and allow extra travel time. Drivers traveling through the work zone should obey posted speed limits, use headlights, watch for signs and flaggers, and avoid distractions.
