Rockland Central School District Forms Advisory Committee for Unified District Transition

Posted on May 14, 2025 by Tim Bruno

The Rockland Central School District has announced the formation of an Advisory Committee, tasked with providing guidance during the transition to a unified district. The committee, composed of equal representation from both Livingston Manor and Roscoe, will hold its first meeting on Wednesday, May 14, at 6 p.m. in Livingston Manor.

The committee’s role is to offer insights and perspectives on key planning topics, ensuring that the new district reflects the values, strengths, and aspirations of both communities. The group will meet monthly and provide a platform for students, faculty, staff, family members, and community members to share their voices.

The Livingston Manor contingent of the committee includes faculty members Rene Carlson and Fiona Streimer; staff members Rosa Finkle and Rob Gould; parent representatives Ashley Hoag-Irwin and Tegan Edwards; community representatives Diana Fredenburg and Dan Smith; and student representative Clara LeRoy. Roscoe’s representation includes faculty members Cindy Hyzer and Katie Ahart; staff members Abby DeFreitas and Nicole Rasnick; parent representatives Christina Antizzo and Kendra Harris Constant; community representatives Ed Park and Elwin Wood; and student representative Brooke Coman. District administration members Adam Larson, Julie Buck, Lauren Marrero, Christopher Hubert, Robin Francisco, Rebecca Ackerly, and John Evans will also participate.

The district encourages public participation in the committee’s meetings. Those not selected for the committee will have opportunities to join work groups. A building tour of Livingston Manor will be held at 5:15 p.m. before the meeting. The second meeting is scheduled for early June in Roscoe, with future dates to be determined by the committee.

In addition to the Advisory Committee, the district will host a Community Planning Day on Monday, May 19, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Livingston Manor auditorium. This event will focus on continuing the strategic planning process and defining a shared mission, vision, and core values. Attendees must RSVP at https://tinyurl.com/RocklandplanningRSVP.
