DUNMORE, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a temporary reopening of Route 2002 (Wilson Hill Road) in Delaware Township, Pike County. The road had been closed for a Cold In-Place Recycling project, which has now been paused. Traffic will be allowed through until work resumes on Monday, July 21, 2025, when a detour will once again be in place.
The ongoing project uses Cold In-Place Recycling—a sustainable road repair technique where existing pavement is milled, processed, and re-compacted to fix surface irregularities, potholes, and cracks. In addition to improving road conditions, the method conserves energy and natural resources and offers cost benefits compared to traditional resurfacing.
Motorists are reminded to use caution when driving through reopened work zones and to plan for detours later this month when construction resumes.
