A unique, family-friendly event is coming to Sullivan County this spring, combining the worlds of construction and creativity in a way you don’t see every day.
The Spring Heavy Equipment Lego Show will take place on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Catskills Equipment Sales and Service in Jeffersonville. The event is free and open to all ages.
Hosted by Catskills Equipment and local educator and Lego program organizer Ms. Adrienne, the show blends hands-on exploration with imaginative building. Visitors will be able to see Lego creations inspired by heavy machinery displayed alongside real-life equipment, offering a side-by-side look at how creativity connects with the real world.
“This is really about bringing the community together and giving kids a chance to show off their creativity,” Adrienne said during a recent interview.
Families attending the event can expect a full day of interactive experiences. Kids will have the opportunity to climb on and explore real trucks and equipment, take part in a scavenger hunt that challenges them to find hidden Lego builds among the machinery, and enjoy raffles with prizes donated by local businesses. Tables will also be set up with Lego creations from builders across the community, including both children and adults, showcasing everything from simple builds to more complex designs.
Organizers say the event is designed not only to entertain, but to build connections. More than a dozen local businesses and organizations are expected to participate, contributing equipment, demonstrations, food, and other activities that help turn the show into a broader community gathering.
“It’s all about sharing in the fun and building community,” Adrienne said.
The event also falls on Mother’s Day weekend, and organizers have added a special touch. The first 50 moms who attend will receive free gifts, offering an extra incentive for families to come out and celebrate together.
In addition to attending, community members who build with Lego are encouraged to take part in the show. Organizers say there is still room for participants to submit their creations, with space available up until the day before the event.
For those looking for a free, hands-on way to spend time with family while celebrating creativity and community, the Spring Heavy Equipment Lego Show offers something a little different—where imagination meets real-world machines in the heart of Jeffersonville.
