A tragic accident claimed the life of a local teenager on Tuesday evening. According to New York State Police, a 15-year-old girl was killed in an ATV crash that occurred around 5:14 p.m. on July 15 on County Road 94 in the town of Fremont, NY.
Investigators say the 15-year-old driver and one passenger were riding an ATV through a field when the driver attempted a right-hand turn, causing the vehicle to overturn. Both teens were thrown from the ATV during the crash. The ATV then came to rest on top of the passenger, identified as Alice R. Ferber, 15, of Hankins, NY. Ferber was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was transported to Garnet Health with what authorities described as minor injuries.
State Police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
when will the carnage from ATV accidents stop. At Least these kids were not on the open road but the police do nothing to stop under aged un licensed kids operation atvs on state roads where they are illegal. Plus no seatbelts!!!!!
