Community members interested in volunteering with local organizations are invited to attend the 2026 Sullivan County Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, July 29.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Monticello Firehouse on Richardson Avenue in Monticello and will feature dozens of organizations seeking volunteers.
“We’ll have dozens of volunteer organizations ready to talk about the wonderful work they do,” said Sullivan County Volunteer Program Coordinator Monika Roosa. “What they’re looking for – and who we really want to attend – are people with a giving spirit. All ages and abilities will be welcome!”
According to the county, volunteer opportunities are available for people with a wide range of abilities and schedules. Some organizations are looking for volunteers who can commit as little as an hour or two each month. Opportunities may include filing paperwork, entering information into a computer or sharing specialized skills and experience, in addition to more hands-on roles.
“All we’re asking is for a chance to meet and talk – potential volunteers can then make up their own minds of what they want to do,” Roosa said. “Let’s figure this out together!”
