Sully Bridge in Woodstock to Close for Two Months Starting April 14
KINGSTON, N.Y. — The Ulster County Department of Public Works will temporarily close the Sully Bridge in the Town of Woodstock beginning April 14 to allow for a bridge superstructure replacement project.
County Bridge #182, known locally as the Sully Bridge, carries Tannery Brook Road (County Road 41) over Tannery Brook. Officials say the closure will last about two months, depending on weather and site conditions.
The affected section of roadway is located about 50 feet north of the intersections with Ohayo Mountain Road and Millstream Road. During construction, Tannery Brook Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic at the bridge.
County officials said the project is necessary to improve the bridge’s structure and ensure safe travel along the roadway.
A signed detour will direct drivers along nearby roads during the closure. Motorists traveling through the area may use Millstream Road east for 0.4 miles, then turn north onto West Hurley Road for about 285 feet. From there, drivers will continue west on State Route 212 for 0.8 miles before heading south on Tannery Brook Road for 0.3 miles to reconnect with the roadway beyond the closure.
